Senior SOA System Architect

HITSS, LLC. is seeking a Senior SOA System Architect to provide technical support in system architecture, system design, system integration and technical management for our federal government client. The successful individual will assist in providing technical input to the systems engineering with SOA/OSB expertise, lead teams in developing application and technical plans; guide customers in the installation and use of strategic products through education and guidance. This is a full-time position located in Austin, TX.

On Site – VA FSC Austin, Texas

110-120K Based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage the complex engineering and integration of the application, security, and infrastructure architecture as it relates to financial systems
  • Monitor enterprise architecture and computer systems to ensure they are working optimally and that the hardware and software are compatible with all appropriate federal policies and procedures
  • Manage infrastructure equipment life cycles, requirements engineering, and capacity planning
  • Strong SOA/OSB Expereince
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of infrastructure and application architecture
  • Identify requirements and deficiencies in hardware and software products
  • Design and implement system security and data assurance
  • Configure and install computer systems for other organizations
  • Test software applications and systems
  • Analyze current and future users’ needs for DevOps
  • Create flowcharts, diagrams and other documentation
  • Create manuals and detailed sets of instructions for Administrators (Application, System, Data, Network, and Security)

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical engineering discipline plus ten (10) years of increasing experience in enterprise architecture and systems engineering OR a Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering discipline noted above plus 20 years’ experience
  • Demonstrable experience in creating technical plans and system architectural direction
  • Experience in architectural framework solutions
  • Heavy experience in IT solutions, infrastructure, SDLC, testing, security and application administration
  • System engineer with SOA web services implementation and sustainment at the application and infrastructure layer
  • Experience with laying out end to end application landscape identifying integration points and interfaces
  • Ability to decompose components and created a logical component breakdown to be used by other technical teams
  • Ability to generated detailed enterprise data warehouse component data flow identifying source feeds, data marts, reports, extracts and applications
  • Interface with other projects and programs to manage dependencies and impacts
  • Implemented and configured SOAP web services
  • Develop WSDL and Schema documentation
  • Reviewed service artifacts such as WSDL, XSD, design documentation and source code to determine source documents that would provide the input for the creation of the service reference guide
  • Created process flows and documentation describing how to document a service using the service reference guide template
  • Provided detailed approach to estimating the time required to document existing services based on service characteristics such as service complexity, operations, messages, message sizes and availability of existing service documentation
  • Experience with Oracle service bus and IBM service bus
  • Experience with MQ, REST, SOAP, WebServices, Microservices, XML, XSLT
  • Travel may be required
  • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
  • Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time
  • Remote and on-call responsibilities may be required
